GALERIA LISBON EXPERIENCE

The Galeria (Gallery) rised from the ruins of the old blacksmith shop of the neighborhood. Its a pop-up store that will give a temporary dwelling for young brands, projects and Portuguese start-ups, that were born mainly in the Social Media channels, and grew over the years with the power of “Word of Mouth”.

Now its time to show them to the real world, and give them the opportunity to highlight their physical qualities to their consumers.

The Galeria wants to be a be a showcase for new projects in various areas and at the same time having a cosmopolitan, relaxed and convivial atmosphere where you can share your experiences.

The space works on a rotating basis so you will find there something new every 2 weeks.

CHIADO (CONCEPT) FACTORY OPENS IN CHIADO | News

Chiado Factory not only stands as a concept store. It arises from the effort to produce an evolution in the concept itself, making it broader and innovative.

In addition to the concept stores, whose partners have been carefully selected to ensure a supply of excellence, Chiado Factory also has an office and training space for rental, that is similar to a business center. Apart from this, Chiado Factory has a space reserved for art, which reflects the effort of not only in boosting the culture and the projection of national artists, but fundamentally the desire to overthrow the stigma that art is something intended only for those who have a robust bank account.

MUSEU DO FADO | Museums

As we’ve said before, Fado is one of the most  important trademarks of Lisbon and Portugal. To better understand its beauty you must go to the Fado Museum (between Terreiro do Paço and Santa Apolónia).

The museum doors opened to the public in 1998, showing Fado’s deep roots in the tradition and cultural history of the country, with related items (Portuguese Guitars mainly) and a great story telling about the all the famous Singers.

 

There you’ll find a Museum School, documentation center, auditorium, a permanent and temporary exhibition circuit.

Save at least 2 hours of your day to go there.

OPEN: Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 AM to 6 PM (last admission: 5.30 PM).

Closed on 1st of January, 1st of May and December 25th.

Two friends founded the Austrian Kaffeehaus, a Viennese café in Chiado, near the Teatro São Carlos, with relaxed atmosphere and an eclectic and welcoming decor. The trademark of this place is a huge box with posters of operas, films and plays from Austrian theaters. The Kaffeehaus serves typical Austrian meals and also some German specialties to taste (like Frankfurt sausages) while having a typical German Beer.

JARDIM DA ESTRELA | Parks

If you have some spare time to just relax and escape from the city (without leaving it), be sure to visit and Xperience Jardim da Estrela (Star Garden), built back in 1852.

Just next to Basílica da Estrela (one of the most important Lisbon churches), at Lapa’s neighborhood, this park offers its visitors 4,6 hectares of trees, lakes, tracks, promenades, so you can either walk and run, take a cup of coffee, or just lay down on the grass listening to your favorite chill out music.

In the summer months there are lots of activities like, outdoor cinema and jazz music concerts.
